Akron, IA man charged with sexual abuse involving minor Unmute LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) - An Akron, Iowa, man has been arrested for multiple counts of sexual abuse involving a minor. According to the Plymouth County Sheriff s Office, 64-year-old Kevin James Jacobs was arrested on March 31 on four counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of third-degree sexual abuse. Jacobs was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Plymouth County Jail. According to court records filed in Plymouth County District Court, Jacobs has bonded out. A preliminary hearing in his case is set for April 21. The sheriff s office says the arrest comes after an investigation in which a minor alleged Jacobs touched them inappropriate.

Windle slated for arraignment  - The Martha s Vineyard Times

The Martha s Vineyard Times Oak Bluffs resident Jeffrey S. Windle is scheduled for arraignment in Edgartown District Court on June 25 on charges that stem from a fraudulent check. The arraignment date comes after a determination of probable cause by Edgartown Clerk-Magistrate Liza Williamson on March 25.  The charges against Windle have increased in number and severity since his apprehension by members of a U.S. Marshal’s Office task force in February. According to a Feb. 18 police report, Windle was originally charged by Tisbury Police with larceny over $1,200 and larceny by check after he allegedly tried to acquire real estate with an invalid $2 million check. Windle previously served time for embezzling millions of dollars. Records indicate Windle is presently charged larceny by false pretenses relating to contracts, banking transactions or credit, larceny over $1,200 by false pretense, attempt to commit a crime, uttering a false check, and being a common an

Marion Police Department announces three promotions

Marion Police Department announces three promotions Community Content Chief Richard Nighelli announced the promotions of three members of the department. Sgt. Jeffrey Habicht was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and officers Larry C. Savery and Sean Day were each promoted to the rank of sergeant. All three were appointed to their new ranks during the virtual Marion Board of Selectmen meeting Jan. 19. I d like to congratulate Lt. Habicht, Sgt. Savery and Sgt. Day on their promotions, Nighelli said. Each brings several years of experience and valuable skills to their new positions and I am confident that they will continue to serve the Marion community well.
