These days, you expect a machine with a Ferrari badge to be able to do 200 mph (322 kph), but back in the late 1980s when the F40 did that, it was the first road-legal vehicle to do so. It was also the final Prancing Horse to be approved by Enzo himself, and the list of aspects that makes the retired Maranello halo car so popular can go on for quite a bit. However, not all F40s have it easy nowadays. 6 photos
In fact, an example of the Fezza burned to a crisp over in Japan last week, while another one was consumed by flames last year, with the unfortunate event having taken place in Monaco on il Commendatore s birthday out of all dates.

Charles Leclerc said he got “angry” at his radio messages in Spain because he wanted to chase a podium, but he was told about cars behind him instead.
The Ferrari driver had an excellent weekend, putting his car P4 on the grid and sweeping around the outside of Valtteri Bottas at Turn 3 at the start to get himself into the podium places.
Bottas managed to get back past the Monegasque, but although a fourth-placed finish was “the perfect race” for the Prancing Horse – Leclerc had hoped to get more out of the Spanish Grand Prix.

THE SATISFYING
brrrraap of naturally aspirated V12 flatulence was the perfect soundtrack to the speeding supercar on the screen. Hugging the turns and sprinting through the straights of Pista di Fiorano, the Ferrari looked right at home.
Well, technically it was. The Fiorano Circuit is owned and maintained by Ferrari for its R&D and testing purposes. The figure-eight course is also near Maranello, home of the Prancing Horse, so, it made perfect sense for Ferrari to hold its virtual unveiling there last Thursday. The revelation of the 812 Competizione (Italian for âcompetitionâ) and its targa version, the Competizione A, was also a chance for the brand to show off its new GT Sporting Activities Department, which is open to clients who want to enjoy the singular pleasure of tracking their Ferraris.

The last Ferrari to be approved by the one and only Commendatore, the F40 should have been produced in 400 units. As fate would have it, the Prancing Horse manufactured a little more than 1,300 copies through 1992 due to surprisingly high demand for the V8-engined supercar. 7 photos
