From June 9, Bromsgrove District Council’s contractors, Prysmian Cables and Systems Limited, will be onsite to replace the current lighting with new LED lighting. The new LED lights should mean improved lighting levels as well as a reduction in the council’s carbon footprint and energy bills for the car park. LED lights last much longer than traditional forms of lighting and so should mean less maintenance work is required.
The proposed plans have generated over 200 objections from residents. PLANS to build 90 static residential homes on Corbett Business Park in Stoke Prior have caused outrage amongst residents, sparking over 200 objections. The applicant, Mongoose Ltd, has proposed that the residential homes will cater only for the over 55’s, acting as a retirement village. The proposed site which lies between a railway line connecting Birmingham and Worcester and the Worcester to Birmingham canal, has previously been used as a landfill site but has remain undeveloped since 1986. The sheer size of the development has angered residents, with concerns over the impact on the local doctor’s surgery, road infrastructure and schools despite the site being marketed to the over 55’s.
