Mumbai: History-sheeter held with MD drug worth Rs 21 lakh

FPJ Correspondent Mumbai: The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the city crime branch arrested a 32-year-old history-sheeter with Mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 21 lakh on Saturday. The accused Abdul Ajij Shaikh has 19 cases registered against him and in November last year he came out of the jail. Owing to his criminal record he has been externed three times from the city limits. According to the police, during night patrolling on Saturday, a team from Worli unit of ANC apprehended a man who was found loitering suspiciously. During his search 210 grams of MD was recovered, in international market the said quantity of MD is worth Rs 21 lakh, said police.

NCW moves SC against Bombay High Court s skin to skin judgement ANI | Updated: Feb 04, 2021 22:33 IST New Delhi [India], February 4 (ANI): The National Commission for Women (NCW) has filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court against the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court verdict which ruled skin-to-skin contact is necessary for the offence of sexual assault under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. After being aggrieved by the order and the interpretation adopted the term physical contact in Section 7, POCSO Act means only skin to skin touch , the NCW moved the Apex Court and filed the SLP.

13-year-old requests CJI to remove Justice Ganediwala who gave Skin-To-Skin judgement ANI | Updated: Feb 03, 2021 22:32 IST New Delhi [India], February 3 (ANI): Zen Sadavarte, an eighth standard student filed a letter petition in the Supreme Court on Wednesday demanding to remove Justice Pushpa Ganediwala as judge of any court. Justice Ganediwala, a judge of the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court, had observed that there should be skin-to-skin contact with sexual intent for the crime, and mere groping would not be considered as sexual assault, Sadavarte stated. Sadavarte, 13-year-old National Bravery Awardee, is a rights activist working for child rights, nutritional mid-day meals for children on holidays, for transgender rights, and for reservations.
