Adam Kolton, 53, Dies; Led Fight to Protect Alaskan Refuge
Through his work with environmental groups, he tried to prevent the introduction of oil and gas drilling in sensitive lands.

Adam Kolton, an environmentalist and longtime defender of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska against oil and gas development, died on April 26 at a hospital in Bethesda, Md. He was 53 and lived in Bethesda.
The cause was cancer, his wife, Laura, said.
