“Dr Jibraeil was an excellent researcher and a passionate and dedicated teacher, who loved his work and cared deeply about students”, said Prof Gulfishan Khan, Chairperson, Department of History.
During his teaching and research career, Dr Jibraeil published papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored books and wrote and edited book chapters and monographs.
He taught the Ph.D, graduate and post-graduate students. Urban History of Rajasthan and Hydraulic Management System of Rajasthan were his thrust areas.
Dr Jibraeil wrote thesis on ‘Urban Centres and Population during 18th -19th Century in Rajasthan’ for his Ph.D at AMU awarded in 2008. He also attended AMU for his Bachelors and Masters in History.

Aligarh: Prominent superannuated faculty member of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Prof Nabi Ahmad, Department of Education passed away after a brief illness.
Extending condolences, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor said that Prof Ahmad was a well known educationist and a sincere teacher. His demise is a personal loss for him and a big loss to the university community.
“He was an excellent academician and teacher with a wide following among students and colleagues,” said the Vice Chancellor.
Meanwhile, addressing an online condolence meeting held by the Department of Education, Prof Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui (Acting Chairperson) said that the untimely demise of Prof Ahmad is a big loss to the education fraternity.

“It is with profound sadness to hear that Dr Faisal has passed away. I remember very well the many contributions he made to the University community. I like to send my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to his bereaved family”, said Prof Azra Musavi (Director, Centre for Women’s Studies).
Dr Faisal was a member of several academic bodies including the Aligarh Historian Society, India, Indian History Congress and All India Women’s Association. He also worked as a research investigator for the Centre for Research in Electoral and Social Trends in India and State and Society Project of Bangalore University, Ohio State University and University of California.

The Vice Chancellor added that Mr Wasim’s demise is not only a big loss for the AMU fraternity, but it is also a personal loss for him.
Mr Wasim was passionate about politics from student days and was elected as the Secretary of AMU Students Union.
The deceased was residing with his brother, Nasim Ahmad in the Sir Syed Nagar area of Aligarh for the past months.
