Liberia: AFELL Demands Speedy Investigation Over ‘Humiliation’ of Female Police Officer

MONROVIA – The Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia (AFELL) has condemned in the strongest term what it calls “barbaric, brutal and gruesome physical assault’ on Officer Rebecca Nimely of the Liberia National Police in Maryland County.
The alleged act according to AFELL was meted out by the Maryland County Police Commander, Jacob Comehn of the Liberia National Police.
In a statement, AFELL says officer Rebecca Nimely is crying out for justice, saying since the act was carried out against her, little was done by disrobing officer Jacob Comehn of his duty.

Updated Two Derbyshire police officers have been given Covid fines for breaching lockdown rules, it has been claimed.
Derbyshire Live understands that two serving officers with the force were fined by Leicestershire Police late on Sunday night, February 7, or in the early hours of Monday morning, February 8. A source who spoke to Derbyshire Live said the pair, who both live near the border between Derbyshire and Leicestershire, were fined after on-duty police officers in the neighbouring county spotted them meeting up.
Derbyshire Live understands that both officers were off-duty when they were found.
