The Rajasthan High Court on Friday sought the response of the Centre and the state government on a petition challenging the different prices of anti-coronavirus vaccines and alleging mismanagement of the COVID-19 situation.
The petition also stated that the different prices announced for procurement of vaccines for the central government, states and private hospitals violated the fundamental and constitutional rights of citizens.
Covishield, which is being manufactured by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India, is priced at Rs 150 a dose for the Centre, Rs 400 a dose for state governments and Rs 600 a dose for private hospitals.
GEORGE TOWN (Bernama): The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) gave its assurance to consumers on Friday (May 7) that the supply of controlled goods such as chicken and meat in Penang will be sufficient for the festive season.
Its state director Mohd Ridzuan Ab Ghapar said the supply would still suffice even if the movement control order (MCO) is implemented in the state again.
“Consumers do not have to worry. The supply of controlled goods such as chicken and meat for the festive season is guaranteed, ” he told reporters after conducting an inspection and monitoring of the Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme for Aidilfitri 2021 at Pasar Awam Bayan Baru on Friday.

THE Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry has added 20 more items to the 2021 Hari Raya Puasa festive season maximum price control scheme (SHMMP) list, bringing the total to 32.
Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi said the second phase of the 2021 Hari Raya Puasa SHMMP, which involves items from the vegetable, dry food and sea product categories, will be enforced from May 6.
