New fundraising charity single released by students at King Alfred School
A fundraising charity single has been released by 87 students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy Sixth Form featuring happiness and summertime.
The students and staff have recorded a cover version of ‘Send Me On My Way’ by Rusted Root to raise funds for The MPS Society.
It is the first ever charity single to be released from the school – and they are aiming for 10,000 downloads on Spotify and iTunes to try to get into the Top 40 charts.
The popular song aims not only to raise funds for the charity but also to celebrate the bringing of people together again after a difficult 18 months for the world.

New Learning Lodge opens at Pawlett School to provide quiet learning environment
A new Learning Lodge has been opened at Pawlett Primary School Academy to provide a quiet environment for learning.
The new facilities feature sensory plants, a hexagonal features like bees’ honeycomb and is a wonderful, quiet environment for learning.
At the back of the lodge is a sensory garden, full of plants and wildlife growing freely. There are also several beanbags for comfort.
It supports all subjects including English, maths, religious education, computing, science and more.
Principal Emma Barker said “The Learning Lodge is a brilliant and really special extra outside learning space.”

A new head of school improvement has started their role at a multi-academy trust this month.
Nathan Jenkins is now in place within the central team at The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT) after nearly three years as principal at The King Alfred School An Academy (TKASA).
Nathan led the Highbridge academy to make it one of the region’s fastest-improving schools and will now help to drive improvements at TKASA, as well as Worle Community School Academy and Priory Community School Academy.
