Wrexham inundated with political visits ahead of the election on Thursday
Wrexham has seen many senior figures from a range of political parties rock up over the last few weeks, each wanting to highlight why their favoured candidate will do a better job in the Senedd than anyone else.
Polling day is on Thursday for both the Senedd – and the next Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales.
A lot of work has gone into making sure polling stations are as safe as possible on May 6, but you can help by following a few simple steps when you go to vote:

It follows the Prime Minister paying a visit to a sports equipment supplier on the town’s industrial estate, which has reportedly doubled its turnover during the coronavirus pandemic. Net World Sports has also employed 85 new staff members since the start of the year. During the Welsh Senedd election campaign event held earlier today (Monday, April 26), Mr Johnson was given a tour of the company’s base on Bryn Lane by CEO Alex Lovén.

Wrexham residents are being encouraged to ‘clear out to help out’ this spring by donating good quality but unwanted items for resale.
Located at the Bryn Lane household recycling centre (HRC), proceeds made at the reuse shop – operated by Wrexham Council and FCC Environment – benefit Nightingale House Hospice.
Funds raised go towards providing help and support to those living with life limiting illnesses.
Residents can declutter and drop items off at any of Wrexham County Borough Council’s three HRCs – Bryn Lane, The Lodge (Brymbo) and Plas Madoc – open seven days a week including throughout the latest lockdown.

Those attending are reminded to follow COVID safety measures once there, such as wearing a mask and adhering to social distancing rules.

A Covid vaccine plant was evacuated and the bomb squad called after a suspicious package arrived on site.
Police dealt with the incident at Wockhardt UK on an industrial estate in Wrexham where the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is filled and stored .
In a statement, Wockhardt UK said: Wockhardt UK in Wrexham this morning received a suspicious package to site. All relevant authorities were immediately notified and engaged. Upon expert advice we have partially evacuated the site pending a full investigation.
