From rags to recyclables: Clothing donations at Waste to Energy facility helps local non-profit May 25, 2021 11:34 AM Destiny Richards As long as the items are clean, you can drop them off in a gold bin. They will be recycled through Global Neighborhood Thrift, a nonprofit that employs refugees at its thrift store in Spokane. This new recycle program came about so the city could reduce the amount of usable materials that are typically just dumped at the Waste to Energy facility. Global Neighborhood Thrift says it needs donations like clothes, bed sheets and other textiles to be sold in the store.
