The project engineer gave an update to the Buffalo City Council during their recent meeting, discussing this year’s major construction projects.
Brent Bennett, with Nelson Engineering, said the city’s Fetterman and Burritt reconstruction project has the roads open to traffic and the engineer, contractor, and the city will be working together to compile a “punch list” of items still needing to be done, and cleaning up the project area.
Bennett also discussed the Flatiron Drive project, saying the contractor has been working on installing the new water line on Cinema Drive and “grubbing” (or the removal of trees, shrubs, stumps, and rubbish from a site for a road and/or utility corridor) along Flagstaff Way.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Fairbanks Judge Brent Bennett announced his verdict in a murder trial involving a self defense claim. Ryder Smith, 23, was acquitted a charge of first degree murder, but found guilty of second degree murder. Smith was also acquitted of a charge of tampering with physical evidence.
For the second degree murder charge, Smith faces a 15-99 year sentence.
