Brent Knoll’s Sanders Garden Centre is set to be given a new look as part of a major refurbishment, with work starting this month.
Blue Diamond, the owners, have this week announced the centre is to be given a major overhaul in a cross-store upgrade.
Garden Centre Manager Rob Vohra told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This investment by Blue Diamond is by far the largest since the centre was opened in 2001.”
“It promises our customers a new, fresh and vibrant shopping experience with a much improved customer journey. We are all really excited to see the transformation.”
The internal work is due to start on July 19th, and the external improvements have been postponed until the New Year to avoid disruption during Christmas.
The popular clothing outlet will be shutting later this month, says the store’s manager.
A spokeswoman says: “Due to the garden centre needing our shop space they have not renewed our lease so our last day will be Saturday 26th June.”
“Our thanks go to all our local customers for visiting us over the last ten and a half years.”
She adds that Edinburgh Woollen Mill’s local outlets at Street, Cheddar Garden Centre and Cadbury Garden Centre will continue to be open as normal.
Blue Diamond, which owns Sanders Garden Centre, is planning to open a new clothing store in the near future.

The future of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill store at Brent Knoll’s Sanders Garden Centre has been secured after new owners have taken it over.
The store is fully open again and has new stock in place following the take-over by Purepay Retail Limited.
A question mark had hung over the future of many Edinburgh Woollen Mill stores last year after the previous owners filed for administration.
The Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group had announced it was planning store closures, putting 21,000 jobs at risk across the UK.
A spokesperson at the Brent Knoll store told Burnham-On-Sea.com that staff are “relieved” by the news.
Brent Knoll circus ends early as Covid tier 4 restrictions prevent spectator gatherings
The circus at Brent Knoll’s Sanders Garden Centre has had to finish early due to Tier 4 Covid restrictions coming into force.
Circus Funtasia has brought the ‘The Great Christmas Circus’ to the garden centre, with extra safety measures in place to keep spectators safe.
It had intended to hold its final performance today (January 3rd) but instead had to end the shows on December 30th due to the Tier 4 restrictions coming into force on New Year’s Eve, banning spectator events.
One of the organisers, Antonio Candela, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our shows were able to go ahead when we were in Tier 3 but the introduction of Tier 4 stopped everything.”
