Natural disasters such as fires, come with few, if any, benefits but one good thing emerging from the ashes at Warrumbungle National Park, 470 kilometres north-west of Sydney, is the new visitor centre.
Designed by Tanner Kibble Denton (TKD) Architects, this sandstone-walled building was commissioned after a catastrophic fire that occurred in 2013.

âNinety per cent of the park was destroyed, followed by a rain storm that denuded most of the remaining vegetation,â says architect Alex Kibble, managing director and project director of TKD Architects, who worked closely with project architect Chloe Rayfield.
