Altamont Move Past Maroons 77-37 Improves To 9-2 On The Season

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio On Monday night Altamont got the win 77-37 over Dieterich.   Both teams were slow to start out the game Altamont would jump out to a 5-1 lead to start the game then would take advantage of some Maroon turnovers and would  finish the quarter with the 11-7 lead. Altamont would extend the lead to start the second quarter but it was Dieterich who would finish the quarter strong only trailing 26-21 at the half.  Leading the charge for the Marrons was Kaitlyn Boerngen who had 7 in the quarter.   Altamont would really take control of the game out of the locker room  bringing good energy and strong three point shooting knocking down 8 threes in the second half including 5 from beyond the arc from senior Brooke Runge. Runge would finish the game with 24 points for the game. And it was another night at the office for freshman Grace Nelson who would lead the Lady Indians with 29 points.

Altamont Lady Indians Get The 74-51 Win Over St Anthony

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio On Thursday night Altamont picked up the win 74-51 over St. Anthony. The Lady Indians bounced back with a better performance than the struggles on Monday night.   The game started out like you would think it would, with two talented scorers trading baskets.  St. Anthony’s attack was lead by junior Riley Guy scoring 6 of the teams 14 points. It was Altamont freshman Grace Nelson with a majority of the 20 points for Altamont.   Altamont would  take advantage of the handful of turnovers  in the second quarter to go on a run to extend the lead at halftime 42-24.
