Veganism is becoming a more popular lifestyle choice, thanks to the advancement of milk alternatives and plant-based options. But Fayetteville still falls short, as the city lacks any vegan restaurants.
But for two years, the city has played host to a vegan festival, 2018 and 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic canceled the one scheduled for 2020.
Audriaunna Kitterman, founder of the Fayetteville Vegan Festival, believes that, compared to when she started the festival, Fayetteville has made strides in the veganism community.
“It’s a continuous growth forth, it’s going to take a larger scale, a larger fluctuation of people on the same frequency in the same alignment to say, ‘Hey you know what let’s continue to move forward,’” she said. “I see more people being receptive, more people understanding what vegan is.
