I-80 Delaware Water Gap Rockfall Mitigation Project is built on rubble and rubbish

I-80 Delaware Water Gap Rockfall Mitigation Project is built on rubble and rubbish | Opinion Tara Mezzanotte © Tariq Zehawi/NorthJersey.com The risk of rock falls is very high at the Route 80 s-curve at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Warren County, N.J., according to the NJ Department of Transportation. But locals say the highway has other more pressing dangers. How did we get here and how do we stop the NJDOT from wasting our tax dollar on this boondoggle? We may have found the source of the controversy over the I-80Rockfall Project. We also found that we are not alone, as a similar pattern appears with other rockfall projects in Hunterdon County.

DWG Rockfall Mitigation Project: How did we get here?

How did we get here and how do we stop the NJDOT from wasting our tax dollar on this boondoggle? We may have found the source of the controversy over the I-80Rockfall Project. We also found that we are not alone, as a similar pattern appears with other rockfall projects in Hunterdon County.  They seem to be getting twisted up trying to justify the unjustifiable, explain the inexplicable and fix the unfixable. It appears NJDOT may have violated their own policy and procedures related to scope development, community involvement and the limited scope provision. The only solution is for these projects to start over!

Proposed Pedestrian Bridge from Crystal City to DCA Set for Next Stage

March 15, 2021 at 10:00am It’s an idea that’s still years away, but a new pedestrian bridge from Crystal City to National Airport is getting a bit closer to reality. At its upcoming Saturday meeting, the County Board is set to take a significant step in the creation of the proposed “High Line”-like pedestrian path over the GW Parkway. “The Board will consider approving a $4.23 million contract, awarded through a competitive bidding process, for the conceptual design and environmental review for a Crystal City-National Airport Multimodal Connector,” according to Arlington County, in a preview of the meeting’s agenda. “The connector would link Crystal City’s core and the airport, meeting the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, and micro-mobility users of all ages and abilities.”
