There’s a new range of LEGO Speed Champions sets for the summer, and things like the Chevy Corvette C8.R and Bronco R cater to the racing side of the equation. But there’s a little something for the street as well, including a neat McLaren Elva fun build that comes with a nice Easter Egg related to the speedster’s development team. 15 photos
McLaren Automotive is just one of the automakers that joined their forces with the Danish LEGO Group to add even more entertainment to the bricked builds this summer. But, to make sure it manages to stand out in a crowd that also includes hypercars like the LEGO Speed Champions Koenigsegg Jesko (76900), they decided a little twist was in order for their Elva (76902).
The Elva has a price tag of $1.8 million, but this version will only cost you $25.
With an eye-watering $1.8 million price tag and a limited production run of just 399 units, the McLaren Elva is unattainable for most people. It s one of several exotic speedsters flooding the supercar scene along with the Aston Martin V12 Speedster and the Ferrari SP1 and SP2 Monza.
However, there is now an easier, and possible, way to own a McLaren Elva. McLaren and Lego have teamed up to create a Lego Speed Champions version of the Elva Speedster. Featuring 262 pieces, the Lego Speed Champions car replicates the Elva s wide chassis, two-seater open cockpit, and prominent hood air vents. It measures 1.5 inches high, six inches long, and three inches wide.

Luxury carmaker McLaren has joined forces with the LEGO Group for a buildable replica of one of the industry’s most esteemed supercars, dubbed, “LEGO Speed Champions McLaren Elva.”
The 263-piece playset enlists intricate building instructions that incorporate the vehicle’s two-seat open cockpit, heavy-duty engine and detailed branding motifs across a bright blue colorway. Measuring 1.5 inches high, six inches long and three inches wide, the compact toy arrives complete with a McLaren driving figure, decked out with a racing suit, helmet and wrench, inspired by McLaren’s Principal Development Engineer for Ultimate Series, Rachel Brown.
The car itself was designed with the ultimate joyride in mind, featuring an open-top construction with no roof, windscreen or windows. Notably, the automotive company’s advanced Active Air Management System utilizes aerodynamics to create a “bubble” of air around the car’s occupants to protect from expected wind.
