By John Heinis/Hudson County View Following a month-long investigation, members of the HCPO NTF executed search warrants at two residences in Bayonne leading to the seizure of nearly three kilograms of cocaine and 95 fentanyl pills. During the operation, officers arrested three individuals who were charged with various narcotics offenses. The search warrants and narcotics seizures occurred at 11A Willow Street and 20 W. 49th Street in Bayonne.

Hudson County Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Girl He Met On Social Media, Prosecutor Says

A Hudson County man was arrested for sexually assaulting a teenage girl, authorities announced Thursday. Jeison Ulloa Madrid, 20, of Union City, met the 14-year-old girl through social media and was arrested on May 19 around 10:30 a.m., at the Hudson County Prosecutor s Office in Jersey City, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Madrid was charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal sexual contact, Suarez said. Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit for the investigation and arrest. Anyone wishing to report a sex crime should call the Hudson County Prosecutor s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) at 201-915-1234.

Jersey City man sentenced to five years following shooting

Hudson Reporter Jersey City man sentenced to five years following shooting × U.S. District Judge Madeline Cox Arleo sentenced Jamel Armfield, 20, of Jersey City, previously convicted of three felonies, to 60 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition in connection with a June 2020 Jersey City shooting. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Armfield previously pleaded guilty by videoconference before Arleo to an indictment charging him with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. On June 24, 2020, Armfield fired nine rounds of ammunition at a moving vehicle on Gates Avenue in Jersey City from a .45 caliber Springfield Armory semi-automatic handgun, Model XD-45 ACP. He also had in his possession several rounds .45 caliber ammunition.

Son charged with killing mother, 60, in Jersey City fire being probed by arson task force

By John Heinis/Hudson County View This morning just before 1 a.m., members of the Jersey Police and Fire Departments responded on a call of a disturbance at 18 Virginia Ave. Responding units found a female victim in the building’s first floor in critical condition, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement. The victim, later identified as Jacqueline Nelson, 60, was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at approximately 4:14 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, while the fire was reported under control at approximately 1:21 a.m.

Diana Camacho, 52, of Jersey City, turned herself in to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. and was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child at the Kiddie Academy in Hoboken, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
