False Burglary Report Leads To Car Chase, Manhunt In Central Oklahoma

By: Barry Mangold An incorrect report of a burglary in Nicoma Park led to a roughly 20-mile car chase that ended with a crash and manhunt in Pottawatomie County.  Oklahoma County dispatch received a 911 call Monday night from a woman who said a home on E. Sewell Ave. in Nicoma Park was broken into.  “There are people over there tearing that house apart and it is not the cops,” the caller told dispatchers.  The owner of the home said there was no break-in. The owner, who requested to not be identified, shared security footage with News 9 overlooking the front of the home.

Man In Custody After High-Speed Chase Through Oklahoma County

Officers say the scene started as a burglary call in Nicoma Park around 9 p.m. Monday. Investigators say Parham took off in a stolen truck when officers arrived, leading them east on I-40, speeding more than 100 MPH at times. A deputy attempted to push Parham off-road. That s when the sheriff s office says the suspect rammed the deputy s cruiser with his car, then made an obscene gesture. The deputy tells me the gentleman actually turned towards him and flipped him off, says Aaron Brillbeck of the Oklahoma County Sheriff s Office. Parham crashed on I-40 near the Oklahoma-Pottawatomie County line and took off running.
