Noida/Ghaziabad: Gautam Budh Nagar on Sunday registered 1,571 fresh Covid cases, the highest single-day tally so far. With this, the tally now stands at 44,346. On the same day, 12 patients succumbed to the infection, taking the toll to 237. At present 8,261 people are in home isolation or are undergoing treatment at Covid care facilities. A total of 35,848 patients have recuperated from the infection. Over the past few days, the recovery rate in the district has improved but the bed occupancy across all Covid care hospitals is yet to improve. About 23 hospitals are providing treatment to Covid patients in GB Nagar and of the total 3,780 beds, 3,050 are occupied. “On Sunday, only 730 normal beds were vacant across the 23 hospitals,” said an additional chief medical officer who is supervising the admission process.
