Shivamogga (Karnataka) [India], January 17 (ANI): Congress leader and former deputy chief minister G. Parameshwara on Sunday announced his party will hold a protest march towards Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru on January 20 in support of farmers protesting at the borders of the national capital against the new farm laws.
Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga, Parameshwara informed that the Congress leaders will first gather at Freedom Park and later hand over a memorandum to Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi backed farmer s protest and the state congress also extended the support to the farmers. The state leaders will gather at Freedom Park on January 20 and will take a march to Raj Bhavan and give a memorandum to the Governor, the Congress said.
BENGALURU: The BJP government in Karnataka will not only complete its five year term but also return to power with absolute majority in the state, Union home minister Amit Shah said on Saturday.
According to him, a lot of development work has been undertaken in the state under the leadership of chief minister B S Yediyurappa.
Shah advised the opposition leaders to work for the well-being of the people instead of finding fault with the BJP. I have been reading the statements of Congress leaders that this will happen and that will happen in Karnataka but I want to tell everyone that the BJP government will not only complete the five year term but also return to power for five years with absolute majority, Shah said.

Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi’s three year tenure is going to end on June 19. And now he has asked government not to consider him for reappointment to the post.
Rohatgi told PTI that he had written to the government in May conveying his wish to discontinue as Attorney General and return to private practice.

Some of the aspirants who failed to make it expected to meet Amit Shah After months of speculation and postponement, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa inducted seven new faces into the Karnataka Cabinet on Wednesday, amid discontent among a section of party legislators. Three MLCs N. Nagaraju (MTB) and R. Shankar, both defectors, and C.P. Yogeshwar, who played a key role in toppling the coalition government and four senior MLAs Umesh Katti, Arvind Limbavali, S. Angara, and Murugesh Nirani were sworn in as Ministers at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday afternoon.
