Jasper Police say one man was injured in a two-vehicle auto accident that occurred on Monday morning at the intersection of Highway 190 and Bowie Street, in front of Elijahâs Cafe, here in Jasper.
Police and other emergency crews were dispatched to the location shortly before 8:00, when it was reported that the accident had occurred.
A report by patrol officer Joe Lewien said the crash occurred when a late model Nissan Sentra, which was traveling north on Bowie Street, pulled out onto Highway 190 in front of a westbound 2002 Honda Shadow motorcycle.
Officers said the driver of the Nissan, Leslie Middleton, 23, of Jasper, was not injured in the crash. However, the driver of the motorcycle, Brandon Agnew, 35, also of Jasper, was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, where he was at last word still undergoing treatment.
Water Main Break Causes Lane Closures In Nacogdoches
The City of Nacogdoches is still possibly dealing with the aftermath of winter storm Uri. This morning 3/4/21 they discovered a water main break near Sombrero s Costal Tex-Mex & Cantina Restaurant on North Street. To make the repair they will be taking North Street down to one lane in some areas.
The outer easternmost lane of North Street will be closed and northbound traffic on North Street will go down to one lane. This starts from Bowie Street to Austin Street starting at 10am this morning.
Elm Street will be closed to though traffic between North Pecan Street and North Street and Traffic will be detoured north and south on North Pecan Street. Be prepared for delays in the effected areas.
