One person injured in Monday morning crash

Jasper Police say one man was injured in a two-vehicle auto accident that occurred on Monday morning at the intersection of Highway 190 and Bowie Street, in front of Elijah’s Cafe, here in Jasper. Police and other emergency crews were dispatched to the location shortly before 8:00, when it was reported that the accident had occurred. A report by patrol officer Joe Lewien said the crash occurred when a late model Nissan Sentra, which was traveling north on Bowie Street, pulled out onto Highway 190 in front of a westbound 2002 Honda Shadow motorcycle. Officers said the driver of the Nissan, Leslie Middleton, 23, of Jasper, was not injured in the crash. However, the driver of the motorcycle, Brandon Agnew, 35, also of Jasper, was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, where he was at last word still undergoing treatment.
