The Good:
I’ll give them credit for including Timmins as an option despite the absence of a rail passenger facility. The City with a Heart of Gold is the largest community north of North Bay. This is a painfully obvious location to conclude a passenger train’s journey in the region.

Here are a few items from the January newspapers of 1929 – I wonder if they were having as much fun as we are.
Well, the answer to that facetious question is nope. The front page of the Jan. 17th Porcupine Advance features, no less, a fire that swallowed up a good chunk of the downtown, the catastrophic collapse of our junior hockey team (10-1 loss to Kirkland Lake) and this little piece featuring Coun. Alfred Caron.
