Prosecutors in Genoa have opened two investigations after a television program in Italy broadcast a video showing a group of police officers hitting two migrants on a train between Genoa and Ventimiglia. The migrants had holed up in a bathroom of the train.
Genoa prosecutors have opened an investigation into alleged police brutality against two migrants after on March 29 the Italian television program Striscia la notizia broadcast footage showing officers pushing, kicking and hitting with a crowbar two migrants on a train travelling from Genoa to Ventimiglia in the northwestern region of Liguria.
The scene was filmed with a cell phone on March 24 by a witness.

Adama contacted InfoMigrants to talk about what he experienced on arrival in Romania. Beaten and humiliated by Romanian police after crossing the border from Serbia, the 36-year-old Malian is still traumatized by the violence he suffered.
Adama , originally from Mali, arrived in Morocco in 2018 on a tourist visa. Two years later, with the help of a friend, he obtained a new visa for Serbia. On November 2, 2020, the 36-year-old boarded a plane and landed in Belgrade in the hope of reaching France by road.
He failed to get across the border to either Hungary or Romania many times. Each time, Adama was stopped by police and sent back to Serbia, without being able to file for asylum. On January 13, he tried his luck again with two other people he met in a Serbian migrant camp.

French authorities are continuing regular clearances of migrant tent camps in Calais and Dunkirk, despite snow and freezing conditions. A volunteer from the charity Care4Calais told InfoMigrants that pressure by the French police unit, the CRS , is continuing to build.
Early in the new year, Paul drove from the UK into France in a car loaded up with sleeping bags and tents, destined for Calais. Crossing the border for the first time since Brexit, he was slightly nervous about what to expect, but officials simply checked that he had been tested for COVID, stamped his British passport, and waved him through.
