Dundee police probe theft of heavy plant equipment Updated: May 10, 2021, 2:25 pm © Google Maps Police in Dundee have launched a witness appeal after plant equipment was stolen from a local industrial estate. Officers said they are looking to trace the people involved and the vehicles used to take the equipment. It’s believed the theft took place between 7pm on May 6 and 7:30am on Friday, May 7, Tayside police said. A Police Scotland spokesperson said officers were carrying out a number of inquiries as they urged anyone with information to come forward. They added: “Between 7pm on Thursday, May 6, and 7.30am on Friday, May 7, equipment including three buckets and a pecker (breaker) for a Kubota mini digger were stolen from a builders site on Kilspindie Road, Dunsinane Industrial Estate.

The suspect left empty-handed after threatening the driver with a “sharp or bladed implement” and demanding money. Officers are investigating the incident which is said to have occurred between 9:30am and 9:45am on Monday, May 3, in Stobswell. The driver had collected the passenger from St Andrews Street in Dundee city centre before driving to Morgan Street where the incident took place.

A pilot scheme has been launched in three council areas across Scotland, with Dundee officers given the option to carry the nasal spray, which reverses the effects of an overdose from opiate drugs such as heroin. The scheme began three weeks ago in Dundee, and is voluntary during the pilot, with officers asked to make their decision having completed a training course. Since then at least one person overdosing on drugs has been given Naloxone by an officer in Dundee.
