   A family dinner at Dennyâs ended with a woman being arrested for assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct on Feb. 28, after she became upset that city police officers got their food before she did.
   Española City Police Officers Cody Lattin, Adrian Montoya and Monica Salazar went to the restaurant on North Riverside Drive at 9 p.m., to have dinner. When the food was brought to their table, the officers heard a woman sitting at a nearby table begin to make statements in a âloud, boisterous manner.â
   The woman, later identified as Maria Torres-Jaquez, 27, of Española, said, âthatâs (expletive, expletive) that they get their food before we do,â Lattinâs report said. âThey think that because they are officers they get the (expletive) right to eat before us.â

No crime in walking
March 14
   12:50 a.m. An Ohkay Casino caller said her husband wouldnât let her leave. He got on the phone and said she was drunk. Police determined they were both drunk and a grandmother was called to pick up their children.

   At least 15 New Mexico State Police officers, serving in several different capacities responded Dec. 28, 2020 to an Ohkay Owingeh womanâs E-911 call that she was being held hostage by her nephew Shaun Bird (with five aliases and spellings).
   Bird ran from his auntâs house and a standoff at Birdâs motherâs house, ended with federal agencies arriving and ordering State Police to stand down.
   Bird was allegedly holding his mother hostage at her home on County Road 57 in Ohkay Owingeh. However, numerous incident reports place her outside the house, talking with State Police.
   One of the many incident reports provided by State Police states Bird was also wanted for a probation violation warrant for attempted murder, and from a separate incident, felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
