Inchcape has revealed its plan to create a new Destination Porsche Centre premium car dealership in Bournemouth - substantially expanding the brand s presence in the coastal town.

Inchcape UK chief executive, James Brearley, said: “We have a long history with Porsche and with demand for Porsche cars going from strength to strength, we are delighted to continue to invest in Bournemouth to create a significant ‘Destination Porsche’ for the South Coast.
Click the thumbs up >Porsche GB’s growing franchised car retail network has contributed to year-to-date growth amid a market down 35.5% due to the ongoing COVID-19 ‘Lockdown 3’ showroom closures.
The German sports and premium car brand has outsold Fiat (873) and Suzuki (971) and is within a handful of sales of mainstream brands including Dacia (1,227), Fiat (837), Honda (1,465) and Mazda (1,224) so far in 2021, delivering a 21.3% year-on-year sales growth with 1,112 registrations.
Its result comes despite a tough February in which just 193 Porsche s were registered in the UK - down 30.6% year-on-year.
Deliveries of its new-in-2020 Taycan, the Volkswagen Group brand’s first pure electric vehicle (EV), may have been responsible for the brand s early uplift after it ended 2020 as its second-best selling vehicle, behind the Macan SUV.

Work is underway to create one of the UKâs first Destination Porsche Centre sports car dealerships after Porsche Retail Group revealed details of the new retail facility in Reading.
The Porsche Cars GB-owned AM100 car retail group has already developed a Porsche Studio, in Mayfair, in a realisation of another CI concept revealed at the time, and is now moving ahead to realise its plans for the larger site.
While a spokesman stopped short of confirming the new Reading facility would be the UK s first Destination Porsche Centre, AM understands that the only similar project currently being progressed is Pendragon s Nottingham gateway facility.

That comes despite a heavy hit to its 2019/20 profits as coronavirus lockdowns took their toll.
In December it bought a 5.4 acre site at Hatfield, Hertfordshire, which will become home to its corporate headquarters and a cross-brand ‘statement site’ for wealthy car enthusiasts.
Construction has already started at the £30m development, which will increase HR Owen’s showroom portfolio from 14 to 17, once the Bentley and Lamborghini businesses open their doors later this year.
It will take its tally of Bentley and Lamborghini franchises to 4 each.
