The Worland Warrior wrestling team headed to State in Casper with several wrestlers with a chance at a title. Eight of them would place.
The Warriors scored 165.5 points at The Wyoming 3A State Wrestling Championships at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper, Wyoming on Friday. Star Valley finished first for the sixth straight year. The Douglas Bearcats finished in second 36.8 points ahead of Worland.
Kobe Swain Junior at the 113 pound weight class finished sixth. The weight class was won by three time State Champion from Lyman. Junior, Sefton Douglass.
Finishing fourth at the 120 pound weight class Sophomore Ross Goncalves. The weight class was won by Waylon Nelson Senior from Star Valley.
The University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team ascended to the top of this week’s NVA/AVCA Division I-II coaches poll released on Monday, taking the No. 1 spot from BYU who dropped to No. 2.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr lauded Santa Cruz guard Jeremy Lin for his impassioned Instagram post Thursday railing against the wave of anti-Asian American violence across the country.
“I just saw the … post just now, really powerful,” Kerr said before Friday night’s game against the Hornets at Chase Center. “I applaud Jeremy for his words and echo his sentiments regarding racism against the Asian American community. It’s just so ridiculous. And obviously, spawned by many people including our former president, as it relates to the coronavirus originating in China.
