The Williamsport Area School District is expected to receive almost $9 million as part of the $2.2 billion in federal stimulus funds being dedicated by the Wolf administration to help K-12 school districts and charter schools statewide provide much needed financial support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Local districts and the amount of funds available are: Canton, $1,258,598; East Lycoming, $1,140,294; Jersey Shore Area, $1,871,138; Keystone Central, $5,316,886; Loyalsock Township, $945,113; Montgomery Area, $1,188,107; Montoursville Area, $1,057,830; Muncy, $872,147; South Williamsport Area, $1,278,274; Southern Tioga, $2,432,725; Warrior Run, $1,749,015; Wellsboro, $1,893,360; and Williamsport, $8,949,801.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. A woman from Luzerne County celebrated a monumental birthday on Saturday.
Anastasia Ellen Drake marked her 100th birthday at her home in Hanover Township.
Drake was born in Warrior Run in 1921.
Friends, family, and even first responders came out for the birthday drive-by to help celebrate Anastasia turning 100 years young.
She provided some advice on how to live a long, healthy life. Hard work and keep going! And help everybody that I could. I d like to thank everybody who s come out and wished me a happy birthday. And even if they said nothing just their presence is appreciated! said Drake.

MILTON â Both the Milton and Warrior Run school districts continue to update COVID-19 dashboards on their websites.
As of Tuesday, Dec. 29, the Milton site lists one Baugher Elementary School staff member as having tested positive for COVID-19 over the last 14 days.
No other staff or students in the Milton district are listed as having been diagnosed with COVID-19 or quarantined due to potential exposure to the virus over the last 14 days.
While the Milton district is currently in a break due to the holidays, virtual instruction is scheduled to resume Monday, Jan. 4. In-person instruction is currently scheduled to resume Tuesday, Jan. 12.
