OGDENSBURG â The U.S. Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation announced that eight U.S. ports in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway System received the Robert J. Lewis Pacesetter Award registering increases in international cargo tonnage shipped through their ports during the 2020 navigation season.
âGreat Lakes ports and the St. Lawrence Seaway showcase the critical role that ports play in the global supply chain while providing jobs and economic growth here at home,â U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said in a prepared statement.
The Port of Ogdensburg was one of the recipients of the award.
âThe portâs 4 percent increase in international tonnage over the 2019 shipping season is a significant achievement,â Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority Executive Director Steven J. Lawrence said in an email Thursday.

The Milwaukee Board of Harbor Commissioners today approved the appointment of
Eric Polzin to the position of Harbor Master. In his new role, Polzin will oversee operations at Port facilities and exercise regulatory and police powers over marine activity in the Milwaukee Harbor. His appointment is effective on June 14, 2021.
Polzin has worked at Port Milwaukee for thirteen years. During that time he has overseen projects, led staff, and planned major security and safety initiatives.
