Emergency Road Work In San Andreas Impacts School Bus Routes

Calaveras County Dept. of Public Works Road Closure map San Andreas, CA – Those traveling in San Andreas may want to allow more time and school bus routes will be impacted as a section of Main Street will be closed for emergency work. The roadway will be closed between Pope Street and Court Street for emergency water line and road repairs. The closure is for one day, Thursday, May 20th, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Detour signage will be in place and the map provided by Calaveras County Public Works in the image box outlines the routes. Some school bus routes will be affected. GoLocalProv | Blitzkrieg of Violence Continues Across Providence - 2 Shot on Camp Street Saturday Afternoon

On Saturday, two were shot in the Mount Hope section of the city on Camp Street. The shooting was directly in front of the community playground the Billy Taylor Park. Details on Saturday’s shooting are still emerging. In the past three days, 11 have been wounded and one man is dead.   Murder on Friday On Friday night Providence Police told GoLocal that a man sitting in a car on Pope Street in the Olneyville neighborhood was shot and killed. The shooting took place around 9 PM on Friday. Police are investigating if the incident has any ties to Thursday night. Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza was seen at the site of the shooting on Friday night, but refused to issue a comment on Friday s murder. 

Police say man found shot to death in car parked in Olneyville

The Providence Journal PROVIDENCE One night after nine people were injured in a shootout among two rival gangs, violence continued Friday night when the police found a man shot to death in a parked vehicle off Pope Street in the Olneyville neighborhood.  At around 9 p.m., police were called to the scene, where they discovered the dead 25-year-old man, the city’s eighth homicide of the year, said Cmdr. Thomas A. Verdi, the deputy police chief.  Verdi said Saturday that the homicide did not appear connected to Thursday evening’s shootout outside a house on Carolina Avenue in what police have described as the largest single shooting incident in the city’s history.

On Saturday shortly after 5 PM, police were on patrol paying special attention to the Manton section of the city due to the recent increase in firearm-related violence, including a homicide on Friday on Pope Street as well as several calls for shots fired. Police conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations and made contact with the operator, Ricardo Hiraldo. According to police, Hiraldo was seen throwing an item from the vehicle prior to stopping, which was later discovered to be a Springfield Armory XD40 semiautomatic pistol containing one live cartridge in the chamber and eleven live cartridges in the magazine.
