San Andreas, CA – Those traveling in San Andreas may want to allow more time and school bus routes will be impacted as a section of Main Street will be closed for emergency work.
The roadway will be closed between Pope Street and Court Street for emergency water line and road repairs. The closure is for one day, Thursday, May 20th, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Detour signage will be in place and the map provided by Calaveras County Public Works in the image box outlines the routes. Some school bus routes will be affected. County officials detail that heavy equipment and school buses cannot travel on the designated detour route, so alternative travel plans may need to be made by the public. Calaveras, CA From April 19 to April 30, 2021, phase 1 of the roadway drainage upgrades will be taking place on Ponderosa Way. Crews will be replacing and installing new drainage culverts at several locations along the roadway. Culvert work will take place on Ponderosa Way northwest of the intersection of Whiskey Slide Road and West Murray Creek Road and continue northwest on Ponderosa Way. This is an area that was hard hit by the Butte fire, burning 70,000 acres in 2015.

Hathaway Pines, CA Roadway damage near Hathaway Pines caused by a heavy winter storm system in 2017 will be repaired over the coming months.
The Calaveras Public Works Department reports that Utica Drive will be closed from April 12 through early Fall. The project includes installing a retaining wall, reconstructing an embankment, and repairing the roadway surface. All costs associated with the project are being covered by FEMA. Large machinery will be in the area. Last year downed trees were removed in the project area and a CCWD waterline was relocated.
