(MENAFN - The Post) MASERU -THERE is chaos in the government after Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro abruptly fired two ministers and reshuffled several others.
Labour Minister Keketso Rantšo and Defence Minister Prince Maliehe received their marching orders yesterday afternoon.
Their dismissal is with immediate effect, which means that they left their offices soon after receiving the letters.
The decision has sent shockwaves among cabinet ministers, with most said to have been caught unawares. It could also have grave implications on the coalition government s numbers in parliament.
Rantso could not be reached for a comment but her personal assistant, Nthakho Monare, confirmed that she was no longer a minister.
(MENAFN - The Post) THE All Basotho Convention (ABC) party is currently enmeshed in a bitter internal fight as hawks within the party position themselves to oust Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro. Those against Majoro want the Prime Minister out immediately. Former Prime Minister Thomas Thabane has thrown his weight behind this push to oust Majoro. But Majoro has his sympathisers within the party who are fighting tooth and nail in his corner. The result is a deadlock as the party has been split into two bitter factions. This week, thepost spoke to the ABC s spokesman, Montoeli Masoetsa, about these challenges and below are excerpts from that interview.
(MENAFN - The Post) MASERU -THE Reformed Congress of Lesotho (RCL) youth league is furious after party leader, Keketso Rantšo, was fired like a dog from her ministerial post last week.
The youths are now demanding that Rantšo joins the opposition in parliament.
Itumeleng Ntja, who is the president of the RCL youth league, told thepost that they feel disrespected and betrayed by Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro. He should have talked to our leader before dismissing her, Ntja said, adding that Rantšo was thrown out of the cabinet like a dog .
She said Rantšo s dismissal was done to humiliate her .
