Rockingham has choices in Select Board races

Don t miss the big stories. Like us on Facebook.   BELLOWS FALLS — Rockingham voters have plenty of choice in electing three members of the Rockingham Select Board this coming Tuesday. One, three-year seat and two, one-year seats are up for grabs, and only one incumbent, Stefan Golec, is seeking another term. Four of the seven candidates are running for more than one seat since there is a three-year and two one-year seats available, trying to improve their odds of landing any seat on the board. Running for the three-year seat are Golec, 53, Bonnie North, 73, Cass Wright, 66, Deb Wright, 63, and Jonathan Wright, 45, all of Bellows Falls.

Letter: Vote for Bonnie North, Elijah Zimmer and Rick Cowan

To the editor: Dear Rockingham Townspeople, On March 2, I am voting for Bonnie North (3 year, Select Board) and Eijah Zimmer and Rick Cowan (1 year Select Board). Bonnie, Elijah and Rick collectively bring the experience of a small business owner and knowledge in grant writing and land planning. We need to have people on our boards who have the vision to bring our community forward and to keep our infrastructure in good shape. This attracts other businesses and, in turn, attracts families who want to move here. I hope you will join me in supporting these three excellent, qualified candidates! Ann DiBernardo

The production was postponed two days before its planned opening on March 13 last year because of the pandemic restrictions. There have been no live events that would have otherwise used the stage since, and the movie program was not impacted by its remaining in place. In the summer, then town manager, Chuck Wise, requested that MSA clear out. MSA appealed to the Select Board, based on not wanting to lose its

Rockingham sees crowded race for Select Board

Don t miss the big stories. Like us on Facebook.   BELLOWS FALLS — Rockingham residents will have plenty of choice for the three open seats on the Rockingham Select Board at Town Meeting in March. With Select Board members Gaetano Putignano and Ben Masure not seeking re-election, more than a half dozen people have filed for a seat, with most of the candidates filing for both the open three-year seat and one of the two, one-year seats. Such a strategy is legal, Vermont election officials have said in the past, but successful candidates may only hold one seat. Among the candidates are three named Wright: Bellows Falls Village President Deborah Wright, as well as her husband Cass Wright, have both filed two different seats; also filing for two seats is Jonathan Wright of Bellows Falls, who is no relation to Deborah or Cass Wright. Jonathan Wright was a former Bellows Falls village trustee until June. Cass Wright briefly served on the Rockingham Select Board a few years ago,
