Park rangers eventually tracked down Kevin Anthony alaniz who aimed his gun prompting them to fire. He died at the scene. Investigators later found over 300 rounds of ammunition in his backpack. After the incident in Monterey County in big sur, his name was checked. Notified them that he had an active warning out in Santa Clara County. Reporter authorities realize that Kevin Anthony alaniz was the suspect in the 680 shooting that killed matthew rios.
