PUTRAJAYA: The name of the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police has been handed over to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, says Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin (pic).

pic) said the body cameras would be distributed to seven departments within PDRM.
“We expect the men and women in the police force will be able to use the body cameras by September or November this year.
“The police, through the Home Ministry, are in the final stages of procuring the body cameras as we have entered the tender phase, ” he told The Star yesterday.
Abdul Hamid said of the 2,040 body cameras, 800 would be distributed to the Crime Prevention and Community Safety department (JPJKK); 380 to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID); 200 to the Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID); 60 to the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID); 550 to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement department (JSPT) and 50 to the Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) and the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS).

PORT KLANG: The Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) has seized 650 kg of Captagon pills, an amphetamine drug known as “Jihad drug”, worth a whooping RM221.86 million, here last Monday.
NCID director Datuk Razarudin Husain said the seizure is the second one involving Captagon pills in Malaysia, and it was made possible with the cooperation and intelligence sharing by Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC)
Acting on the information, he said the NCID had detected a container ship that came into a dock at the West Port here last Sunday with one of the containers, which was declared as containing aluminium floor spring. It was meant to be transferred to another ship heading to Singapore on April 6.
