With sunny weather beckoning, people grabbed their bicycles, scooters, strollers, tennis shoes and four-legged friends and headed to Main Street in Schertz on Sunday.
Portions of the street were cordoned off to traffic for the third Movin’ on Main, an event put on by the city in partnership with the Schertz Family YMCA that is aimed at encouraging health and wellness. The annual event was canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Vendors lined the street, hosting games and putting on demonstrations. Families tried yoga and martial arts, listened to a band, played cornhole, scaled a rock wall and chowed down at The Purple Pig BBQ.

POTEET, Texas One of the biggest strawberry bashes in the world is back on this weekend.
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected for the Poteet Strawberry Festival to enjoy the berries and some fun in the sun.
It’s a love for the strawberry that draws crowds to this small Texas town each year. But for Ruth Ann Schulze, the berries are in her blood.
“I want to make sure that they know that, if they come here on the grounds, we are going to have good strawberries for you, unique Poteet strawberries,” Schulze said. “They re not from California. They are grown right here on our Poteet soil.”
