PHOENIX, AZ – Officials are warning prospective buyers of used cars to pay close attention to the condition of any vehicle that piques their interest and avoid flood damage.
Every Arizonan knows that monsoon storms can result in flash flooding hello, “stupid motorist law” and a submerged vehicle can suffer extensive damage that might not always be noticeable. The title of such vehicles should be branded as “salvage” or “flood damage,” but scammers can and do fraudulently remove flood history from vehicle titles.

When it comes to doing business with the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division, ignore all unsolicited communications and avoid online search engines. Instead, go straight to the source at AZMVDNow.gov or ServiceArizona.com. These are legitimate MVD websites and the only ones customers should conduct personal MVD business on.
Over the past several months, customers have made ADOT aware of text messages they’ve received that claim the customer owes the “DMV” money or some other nonsense. Spoiler alert: These customers don’t owe what the text claims and these texts are a scam.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Through the COVID-19 pandemic, customer service demands at the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division have changed.
A partnership with the Yuma prison is expected to provide some relief to the high volume of calls MVD receives.
âMVD is pleased to expand operations of the contact center and customers are the biggest beneficiaries,â MVD Director Eric Jorgensen said. âWeâre grateful that our partnership with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) continues to help us get customers out of line and safely on the road.â
