The Western Cape is still expecting a large influx of vehicular traffic from other parts of the province this festive season.
While this is good news for the tourism economy of the Western Cape, Transport MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela warns it will require motorists to take extra measures to keep roads safe and to contain Covid-19.
Madikizela was at the Huguenot tunnel outside Paarl on Thursday 3 December to launch the festive road safety plan.
The minister said the plan also includes a focus on Covid-19, through increased enforcement and awareness of Covid-19 health and safety rules, especially on public transport.
