Slow down and be prepared : Phoenix area sees dense fog Friday morning Audrey Jensen, Arizona Republic Drivers in Phoenix might find it harder to see while on their Friday morning commutes.  The National Weather Service in Phoenix issued a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. for areas mainly to the west and south of Phoenix. Drivers near Interstate 10 and State Route 347 may encounter low visibility due to the fog, according to the weather service. Visibility is near or below a quarter mile in dense fog.  We just want people to slow down and be prepared for these reduced visibilities, but things should be quickly improving by the middle of the morning, said Mark O Malley, a meteorologist for the weather service in Phoenix.
