AUSTIN, Texas - Trail construction is now complete on the Boggy Creek Trail, Austin s first-ever dual-track trail. The project was a joint partnership with Austin Public Works, Austin Transportation, and the Parks and Recreation Department.
The new dual-track connects Rosewood Ave to E. 12th Street, where it joins the existing Boggy Creek trail.
A dual-track trail separates people walking from those biking or using other wheeled devices, which improves safety and creates more space for the different paces of users.
Beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 16, visitors can explore the trail and read temporary signs that act as a tour guide with more information about this area. The signs will be in place for one month.

A man killed last month in an East Austin crash has been identified as 34-year-old Alan Carrillo and was the 93rd person to die in Austin traffic last year, police said.
An Austin police officer on Dec. 29 around 9:48 p.m. was driving south in the 3000 block of Ed Bluestein Boulevard, near Boggy Creek, when he noticed a vehicle in an odd position near a construction site. The vehicle was up against a concrete wall.
The officer found Carrillo inside the vehicle, which appeared to have been involved in a crash, police said.
Carrillo had no pulse and the officer started CPR until Austin fire crews arrived. Carrillo was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center by medics.

Wells was 82-years-old.
She was remembered to star as Mary Ann in the sitcom, seen pig-tailed and wearing her notable dungarees or gingham dress, which is on display at the Hollywood Museum, as reported by Variety.
The Mary Ann character was the girl-next-door to Tina Louise s evening dress-clad character Ginger.
Ginger was the character who was often subjected to leering comments from the male stars they were shipwrecked with on a tropical island.
This was after they became stranded during a three-hour tour.
Louise was the last remaining member of the crew and said that she was sad to learn of Dawn s passing, adding that she will always remember Wells kindness to her.
