QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau, Balochistan, on Friday filed a reference against two former members of the Board of Revenue (BoR) in connection with illegal allotment of state land to a private person.
The reference was filed in the Accountability Court-I, headed by Munawar Ahmed Shahwani. According to the reference, former members of the BoR of Balochistan Shehbaz Khan and Sarwar Javed illegally allotted the provincial government’s land to a private person. The land’s current value is Rs38.90 million.

Verdict in Rs343m FCS corruption case due tomorrow

An accountability court will announce the verdict in the case pertaining to corruption in the Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) that involves the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) local leader Dr Nisar Morai on Saturday (tomorrow).
On Thursday the Accountability Court-I judge reserved the decision in the case after hearing the final arguments from the defence and the prosecution after an almost three-year-long trial.
In January 2018 the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference accusing the then FCS chief Morai, former chief Abdul Saeed Khan, former vice chairman Sultan Qamar Siddiqui and 10 other officials and contractors of misusing their authority, embezzling funds, making illegal appointments and awarding fake contracts between 2014 and 2015.

The official record of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) exclusively made available with Geo News revealed that Tariq Fawad Malik was declared a proclaimed absconder by the accountability court-IV, Peshawar, in 2009. His non-bailable arrest warrants were issued by the judge after the accused fled abroad.
The anti-corruption watchdog started an inquiry against Tariq Fawad Malik in 2006, the year before he was pursuing a settlement between NAB and Broadsheet in 2007, arguing that the British firm will sue for damages if the bureau does not seal the deal.
