Date Time It’s Local Government Week This week is Local Government Week, which provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the role of Council in supporting, improving and maintaining a vibrant and connected Hills Shire community. This year’s theme is ‘Locally Led’ and highlights all the wonderful services The Hills Shire Council has available for residents, as well as all the fun events and activities that celebrate diversity, local achievement and showcase the best of The Hills region. Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said many people know Council is responsible for local roads, rubbish, sporting fields and parks, but some were unaware of the other services Council provides – especially services that can help and support residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
