Pompano Park wraps up a record-breaking season on Sunday (May 2) with a $100,000 guaranteed pool on the track s Pick-5 offering and two other mandatory payouts, as well.
The lofty Pick-5 guarantee is a result of a $23,739.47 carryover as that wagering option went unsolved on last Tuesday s racing program, despite the 9-5 favourite winning the final leg. Sunday s Pick-5 begins with the opening race on a blockbuster 13-race pari-mutuel program.
Lofty pools are also expected on the track s Pick-6, which has a carryover of $4,865.46, even though the last four legs of that offering were won by horses 2-1 or less. The Pick-6 also has a mandatory payout for Sunday.

Travel associations report about $300 billion out of $800 billion spent on travel comes from business travelers. [Source: CBS Miami]
Florida lawmakers to vote Friday on budget
Harness racing's days could be numbered at Pompano Park if a measure is approved in next month's Florida legislative special session. The action on the racetrack conjures images of chariot races in ancient Rome.
Tempus Seelster and Enzio captured their respective feature events at Pompano Park on Tuesday (April 27) while Dave Ingraham hot a grand slam as he drove four winners on the card.
Tempus Seelster and Ingraham teamed to take the $13,000 Open Mare Pace, using a :27.4 final quarter to edge by the pacesetting favourite Prairie Westerngal in the final strides to score by three-quarter lengths in 1:53.1. Beach Journey, in the garden spot all the way, finished third a length away, while Roll With Angel was fourth after a ground-saving journey and Tale Abit Of Life rallied from last turning for home to pick up the nickel.
Skip To My Lou, driven by owner-trainer Joe Chindano, Jr., pushed his 2021 bankroll close to $50,000 with a sharp 1:52.1 score at Pompano Park on Monday (April 26).
The occasion was the $13,000 Open Handicap Pace and Chindano gave Skip To My Lou crafty handling to out-kick Ideal Feeling (Kevin Wallis) in the final 16th to score by a length. Kinnder Jackson (Ken Holliday) used a ground-saving journey to finish third while Lyons Night Hawk was next over Saulsbrook Deputy. Prairie Panther made a miscue at the beginning to lose all chance in this classy million-dollar sextet.
As the wings folded, Kinnder Jackson (Post 1) left well with Ideal Feeling (Post 6) while Skip To My Lou (Post 5) took a couple of seconds to decide whether to hide or go forward choosing the latter, smartly brushing forward to find a cozy spot back of Ideal Feeling around the initial turn and through fractions of :26.3, :55.4 and 1:24.3. He remained clear from the backside bid of Saulsbrook Deputy as that one m
