Duraimurugan is number 2, Ma Subramanian is Medical Minister, Palanivel Thiagarajan gets Finance
The DMK government under Chief Minister-designate M.K. Stalin to be sworn-in on May 7 would have 34 Ministers. While veteran leader Duraimurugan is designated number two in the Cabinet with Water Resources portfolio, former Chennai Mayor Ma. Subramaniam is the new Minister for Medical and Family Welfare and will handle Health Department in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Madurai Central MLA Palanivel Thiagarajan will hold the finance portfolio.
Following a communication from Mr. Stalin, who sent a list of persons to be appointed as Ministers, Governor Banwarilal Purohit approved the recommendations made by the CM-Designate, an official release from the Raj Bhavan stated.

A day ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of DMK chief M.K. Stalin and his Council of Ministers, the Tamil Nadu Governor has approved the recommendations regarding allocation of portfolios.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister-designate and DMK Chief MK Stalin will be functioning with the support of a 33-member cabinet. The names have been revealed by the party.
Stalin’s oath-taking will be held at 9 am on Friday (7th May) in a small ceremony at the Raj Bhavan (Governor’s residence) in the city.
The list of ministers released by the party does not feature Chepauk MLA and Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi, who has been at the receiving end of criticism regarding nepotism. The list includes only two women - Geetha Jeevan and Kayalvizhi Selvaraj.
