Ionia s Dump-Your-Junk Day set for April 17 Sentinel Staff IONIA  Residents of Ionia can discard items they no longer need during an annual event.    The city of Ionia’s annual “Spring Dump-Your-Junk Day” takes place Saturday, April 17, according to its website.   Dumpsters and compacter trucks will be available at the city’s Public Works Garage at 303 S. Jackson St. It begins at 8 a.m. and continues until noon or until the dumpsters have been filled.  Materials that won’t be accepted include tires, lead acid batteries, yard waste, hazardous waste, liquids of any kind, radioactive materials, barrels or drums that are not empty and crushed, compressed gas cylinders that are not empty and disabled, and appliances containing Freon, unless a valid recommendation sticker is attached.
