Huron Township police are responding to what officers say was an erroneous social media post inferring that someone impersonating a police officer pulled over a motorist last Sunday.
Late Tuesday afternoon, Public Safety Director Everette Robbins posted a detailed statement on the departmentâs Facebook page clarifying what occurred during an incident that took place at approximately 8 a.m. Dec. 13, involving an on-duty officer in his undercover police vehicle. Although the vehicle is unmarked, Robbins said itâs equipped with emergency lighting, as are all unmarked investigative vehicles.
A vehicle passed the police vehicle on Waltz Road, when road conditions were wet and frost was on the ground. According to Robbins, it passed the police vehicle in a careless manner at a speed much higher than the posted speed limit.
