People in Liverpool and the wider city region are being told to look out for wider symptoms which could be linked to a mutation of Covid-19 detected here.
Public Health England has detected 40 cases of the original virus that contain the spike protein known as E484K.
This mutation was first detected in a cluster of 5 cases linked to staff from Liverpool Women s Hospital who had attended a funeral together.
